MBT (Mercaptobenzothiazole) (Powder & Granules)

It is a yellow powder or granule containing a small amount of ozmil. Its density is 1.42–1.52. It is soluble in ethyl acetate, ethanol, NaOH, and Na₂CO₃ solutions. It is insoluble in benzene, water, and gasoline. It is a fast-acting, non-staining accelerator for both solid rubber and latex applications. It is used as an acidic accelerator and as a medium-speed primary accelerator. It provides excellent aging properties and vulcanization when used either alone or in combination with the alkaline curing agent TMTD or DPG. It has a wide distribution with low impurity levels.
